As described in our ezup story, it's more than a year that we joined Herbalife. Since my husband had such great results with the Herbalife nutrition products, it's almost miraculous to say how much they helped him get back to himself from the major illness he went through. At that time about 14 months ago I became a Herbalife distributor, within two months I became a supervisor in the company, all we did is talk to people and tell them how great the products from Herbalife were. Whenever my husband would see somebody with some kind of a problem he would try to get him on the products. Since I'm a busy person and I had no idea how to get the word out that we are in business .
We kept on calling our sponsor for information how to get people from the outside which means the cold market in to this business . Our sponsor kept on saying,the only way to succeed in this business is,
GO TO THE TRAININGS. Since then we go to a training almost every month sometimes it means about two to three hours of traveling, but since we started going to those trainings,every time we come home, we have a wealth of information. In this business you must have a lot of motivation, in order
Not to give up.
So my husband every time we go to a training he brings along his tape recorder and after we come home he keeps on listening to all those tapes and writes down the notes. From the trainers in order to keep our batteries charged so we
don't give up.

Even though we work hard each day to build our business, my husband and mother, always find it easy to mix our family fun with our business. We now have many new friends that we've met over the phone and during our travels to many company sponsored events. Since this is your business, whether you work part time or full time, you must always have a full time, positive attitude. You must be excited and enthusiastic, you must be deadly serious about what you do, and most of all, you must have a burning desire to
a matter of you wanting to succeed, it MUST be that you.....
HAVE TO SUCCEED!
Today I have a "full time" attitude and you need to have one too! Don't feel bad though if you don't. Just as I cannot force you to start a business, I cannot force you to be successful. It must be YOUR choice to succeed! If your life is going in the wrong direction, you must learn to take responsibility for the way it got there and change it immediately. Remember, "for things to change, you must change!"
In order for things to change in your life, you must also learn to identify the progressive steps that lead to change. Here are five specific steps that lead to success:
1. DISGUST
(Not Satisfied With Financial Status Or Career)
2. DECISION
(Do You Stay Disgusted, Or Do You Make A Change)
3. DESIRE
(You Have To Succeed!)
4. ACTION
(Do It Today, Not Tomorrow!)
5. RESOLVE
(Set Goals, Have A Do Or Die Attitude!)

When I started, my first goal was to make $5,000 in my first 90 days of business. I took our products every day, wore my button everywhere I went, talked to at least ten people a day (someone everywhere I went), sold at least two sets of product per day, and set a goal to sponsor ten people each month. I accomplished my goal! You can too, if you.....
HAVE TO DO IT!!
How did I do it? I started by making a list of everyone I knew who was dissatisfied (specifically, those who were in their mid 30's). Then I just asked them this simple question, "Do you want to do the same thing for the next 30 years?" Watch out though, their response can be quite shocking and life changing (for them and you)! You would be surprised how asking a question like that can make your.....
BUSINESS GROW LIKE CRAZY!
The reason that particular question is so effective, is that it makes people think about their present situation, and their future. Their responses are usually quite simple. The "dissatisfied" people will ask more questions and the "satisfied" people will not. If they're not interested, just get on to the NEXT person who does want to hear more! It's very fulfilling to know that at the very least, you gave them a chance to say no. (They also may surprise you and become your first customer!)
Another thing, do not be personally offended when someone says "no" to you. Many times you will find that when it comes to someone's health, nutritional habits, job or careers, most people take things for granted; until they are sick or laid off their job! Remember, when someone says "no", they are just saying.....
NO --- NOT RIGHT NOW!
If this happens, just show them by example and talk to them later (after they start noticing a difference in you!) It has happened to me! Even the best people and sharpest minds in our organization today originally turned me down. Some, many times over! Now they are an integral part of our organization making over $10,000 per month!  They are successful because they have learned to focus on their goals and have learned to be very persistent and consistent, realizing that all excuses are equal! If you learn to master and apply these skills, in time, you could become.....
VERY SUCCESSFUL TOO!!
Think about this statement: "Making a lot of money is not normal, but we're not looking for normal people!" During the first ten days of my business, I found out very quickly that you cannot push someone into a business. You'll find that most people who say "no", for whatever reason, are not dissatisfied enough to even think about changing their lifestyle or working conditions. So no matter what you say, they will never realize the "gold mine" they are turning down.
Not me though! I wanted to secure my "piece of gold" as soon as possible because I wanted to finally get out of debt forever! To do this, I needed to earn extra income.....
REAL FAST!!
Since I had not sponsored anyone yet, I did not qualify for any commission, royalty or production bonus checks. They were only reserved for those who had learned to duplicate themselves. So I was forced to conduct my business like any other business and promote it at every chance I could get! To earn money, I had to.....
RETAIL, RETAIL, RETAIL!
This was a story I heard
Let me tell you an interesting story. A few weeks after I started, I ran into someone who had asked me if my business operated like "one of those programs"? His question really stumped me since I had never been in this type of business before. I had to honestly ask him what he meant. He said, "you know". I said that I really didn't know and could he please explain it to me. You know what? He couldn't!
Many people today have a "fuzzy" attitude toward our industry only because they don't understand, or they know very little about how it really works. They don't realize that selling quality products, whether it's from your home or a store, to those who need and want them, is called Free Enterprise. It just happens that we get paid plenty of money for helping others do the same! Yet, these same confused souls still complain every day about their jobs and their life. (Remember, it's their choice!)
Anyway, I told this person that as far as I knew, I received income through "two different and distinct types of payment plans". One type of payment took care of all the direct sales or mail order business (retail sales), PLUS, there was another "accelerated marketing plan" that tied into a brand new method of "multi-level payout" that richly rewarded the true leaders. But since this "exclusive" plan paid so much, it was reserved only for those people who understood the power of duplication and wanted to make.....
A LOT OF MONEY!
And then I said, "but you don't want to make a lot of money, DO YOU?" By saying it "that way", I finally understood the big picture. It was his choice to participate in the retail side, the recruiting side, or both. Simply put, it was his choice to participate in whatever he wanted to do! My response also "pulled the rug out" from any argument or objection that he could think of. He responded by saying, "How do you know I do not
want to make a lot of money?!"
Throughout our company, I talk to many people all over the world who sell a lot of product and make a lot of money. Just like you and me, each one of these people had to learn how to operate their business as a business!
KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER::
Every business (especially ours) has one thing in common that is essential to be successful --- customer follow up. When people give you money for repeat orders, they are not doing it because of YOU! They are doing it because they received results (or benefits) from your product, they ran out, and they wanted to buy more! Just like any store or business in your local community! Important word of caution: If you do not take care of your customers, they also have the option of looking in the phone book under "H" and getting help from someone who will take care of them properly! In other words, customer follow up is essential!
I have found out from experience that if you explain our products and our opportunity to people properly, and make common sense, you have more than done your job! Your mission is to spread the message of good nutrition all around the world! The only other reason why someone would not listen to you, or purchase products from you, is that they just do not care! In this case, just say next!
HAVE FAITH IN THE COMPANY!!
As a new distributor, you have a lot to learn. Remember, YOU are the one who is new, not the company. We have been in business for over 18 years and now set the standard for others to follow, in over 38 countries! Your business is just one small part of the big, global picture. (Small, but still very important!)

FINAL CLOSING THOUGHTS

Over the past years, I have had the chance to see many different organizations operate in their own individual way. Some were successful, some were not as successful. Some tried many different things, some gave up. But it was the people who kept helping people, no matter what, who made it to the top!

WHAT IS A SPONSOR?
Are you a recruiter or a sponsor? There is a big difference. A recruiter is effective at "signing up" people, and then moving on to "sign up" others. The recruiter seems to be in a frantic search to find superstars among the crowd, and his way to find them is to "sign them up" and then "watch and wait". The recruiter believes in "love . em and leave . em". He expects the superstars to eventually rise to the top, and the others to eventually quit. The sponsor has a different attitude. He believes that any person worth sponsoring is worth developing. The sponsor believes in "marrying" those he sponsors. The recruiter wants a "one-night stand".
Being a sponsor is an ongoing activity. It is this ongoing activity that creates loyalty to the sponsor, and gives the sponsor serious credibility. The recruiter is a traveling salesman; once he has sold you, he is gone. The sponsor is a helper and a teacher who wants you to have the training and tools you need to be successful, and the encouragement to keep plugging. There is also a transferable concept here. Your sponsor wants you to be a born superstar.
What does it take to become a superstar? It takes a lot of attitude-type things, such as confidence, commitment, determination, credibility, etc. Where do these "attitude" type things come from? They are learned, they are taught, they are "caught". Here are the stages of the development of a superstar:
1. Learn to be a real sponsor.
2. Develop others who will be real sponsors.
3. Teach them to teach others to be real sponsors.

The secret to MLM. s success is found in this: the recruiter is not building a "multi-level" organization, it is all one level (and most of them will quit). The sponsor is building a duplicative system that can run downline through his organization. This builds a powerful downline. He is not building a downline of distributors, but a downline of SPONSORS!
What is the difference between a recruiter and a sponsor? It is the difference between hype and help! The sponsor. s job begins when you enroll; the recruiter. s job ends when you enroll. The recruiter. s goal is to sign up people. The goal of the sponsor is to build leaders.
Before asking yourself which you want to be, ask yourself which do you want your upline to be. Remember, you are the upline to other people. Here are the keys to success in MLM:
